Couldn't the people that invented Batman just have done something to give him sonar and make him blind if that's what they really wanted to do? Not like they'd have been ripping off DD since he didn't exist then. Which means that no, they didn't want batman to have any super powers.

I read the first couple of issues back in the day, and I really chaffed at its portrayal of a 5 'Oclock - shadowed, adrenaline addict, kinda sweaty, bull - homo Batman.
