Favorite Song by The Who?

Postby zombiemichaeljackson » Fri Jul 11, 2008 4:42 pm

So, I've been watching all The Who stuff that's On Demand over the last couple of days, and it pissed me off that all the live footage they have is from the last 5 years or so. So, I went and rented 'The Kids Are Alright' which I hadn't seen in a few years and now I'm all up in youtube's business looking up Who footage and reveling in what a fucking awesome band they were.

So, which Who song do *you* think is your favorite?

I added as many as I could, but I didn't have enough room for all the ones that I wanted to put on here.

Behind Blue Eyes. Having said that, I'm not over-fond of the band...

Happy Jack edges out Baba O'Reily. Drums, song structure, tone. The Who rocks.

Yeah, that's a REEEAAALLLLY good record.

Do you have/have you heard the 2 disc anniversary edition? The first disc is all the pre-tommy era stuff, and the second disc is a full length live version of tommy from beginning to end.

It's phenomenal.

I went with Behind BLue Eyes because it's been my favorite the longest, but the song that really strikes a cord is Won't Get Fooled Again. When they threw the concert in Central Park, right after 9/11, that was the last song they played in their set, and it the words seemed to take on a whole new meaning.

Yeah, I'll always remember that.
