The Girl In The Fireplace is one of my favorite episodes of television period. Perfect all around. Blink is pretty fantastic as well.

Yup. The Girl in the Fireplace is my favorite as well. The ending almost made me shed a manly tear. Such a great episode.

Blink suffered (IMHO) from a dearth of The Doctor.

In my opinion, that's what made it brilliant. It succeeded in telling a great Doctor Who-styled story, without the Doctor for the most part.

Girl in the Fireplace is a close second. My only complaint is that it got confusing when Rose shared scenes with the horse.

Were that kind of thing to happen often I would totally agree with you. In this case though, as a one time experiment I thought they pulled it off brilliantly.
