If I remember correctly that was a time sensitive code that Hellmutt was giving away as well

That Hellmutt sure is a swell guy. I think that is the only time I have ever seen that movie offered up in this thread.

My problem with UV is that it's out of sight, out of mind. I have such a huge backlog staring right at me that I can't ignore it. The UV movies I don't even remember I have. Next week I think I need to put some effort into bringing down that backlog, seeing how I have some extra time off.

It's been given away a few times. I gave it away once or twice I believe & if I'm not mistaken Groo21 may have been the one who gave it to me like Christmas time last year on the thread.
Those codes used to be quite common

Shows how much I pay attention to people giving away codes. And here I thought I was special. :-(

So what is the trick to play movies on Vudu and Flixster in HD? When I check my UV account movies like Star Trek: Into Darkness, Hunger Games, Total Recall, The Thing, Amazing Spider-man, etc... say they are in SD and HD. When I attempt to play them on the apps they always play in SD.

The apps will always play the movie in SD regardless of if the code was redeemed in HD.

Flixster is only capable of SD and vudu will play in SD only on iPads, iPhones not sure about a PC or laptop but vudu will play in HD for TVs via roku boxes or smart TV apps. I'm assuming your xbox 360 app will play in HDX as well.

On a PC, Vudu will usually allow you to play a movie in HDX but there are some movies that it will only allow you to play as SD even though you own a HDX copy. When that's the case, there is a laptop icon on the upper right (under the search bar) that says "SD only."

Any chance you are on a slow internet link. I agree with Vader's comments about Flixster, but VUDU can definitely play in HD or HDX. (I use the PS3 app) However, if the app discovers your speed is too slow it will negotiate downward to SD. Only catch though is that when I have seen this happen the VUDU app gives you a big popup message about what it is doing, and judging by your comment you haven't seen such a message...
