So now we've gone from worrying that the elderly will just be put onto ice floes under Obama's plan to advocating the denial of coverage for the obese.

Well then, let's put the obesity thing into perspective, shall we...

-58 Million Overweight; 40 Million Obese; 3 Million morbidly Obese
-Eight out of 10 over 25's Overweight
-78% of American's not meeting basic activity level recommendations
-25% completely Sedentary

Now I'm all for responsibility when it comes to personal care. I work out and try to eat a healthy diet.

I'm still not for cutting out 80% of Americans from insurance.

That's where thinking with the bottom line alone gets you.

Fat people, smokers, drug addicts, etc... should all have higher premiums. If you choose to not take care of yourself you should not be a burden on others and should foot a higher bill.

Just like life insurance. If you have a higher risk lifestyle you pay more.

Cool.

So most Americans are already having trouble with their premiums, but jacking it up won't affect anyone.

And if people can't afford health insurance, there's always free clinics right?

Most Americans are having trouble with their premiums, so you want them to pay more (but through taxes instead)? :?

"Most" Americans aren't having trouble with premiums to begin with. And a lot of the ones who are having trouble are made that they need to spend $150 to insure their family instead of buying a PS3.
