What I like about the show is that pretty much everyone is clueless. With X-Files, Mulder pretty much always had a theory that was close to what was happening. Scully wouldn't believe him, and they would go from there.
Here, only one guy knows anything, but he's got gaps in his memory. I like that the two lead characters are pretty much blind in this and they're both learning as they go.
