in fairness to them the mechanic showed me how easy it is to accidentally program the stupid mykey thing. I blame ford for designing this system that even there own mechanics can't override

There's gotta be a way to override it. And if the key thing is malfunctioning they should replace for free if the car is under any kind of warranty.

if there's a way none of the shops know how to do it (they were on the phone with a bunch of differnt people). The key is not malfunctioning it's working how it's supposed to it's just the system in place is retarded, I have a spare key that could fix all of this (in theory) but moving twice this year I seem to have misplaced and they don't cover lost keys under warranty

so I have a 2010 Ford Focus,I just took it to get the oil changed. After the Mechanics were done I get into the care and I noticed on the display it says something like "Mykey is activate" odd I've never seen this before I think to myself,then I try and turn the radio up and it says that the Volume limit is set to a level due to mykey WTF ? so after getting back to the office and doing a little Googling I've found out mykey is a way for the owner of a car (think parent or maybe a rental company) to set "safe" parameters for the car. That's great but I never set this up,I have no idea how the people at jiffy lube set it up and best off all my only key which is now the "Admin key" doesn't seem to be able to access the fucking Mykey settings! WTF !so I called ford and they told me they don't understand the problem and their gonna have to mail me a new key ? WTF my car was fucking fine!!
I guess that's what I get for buying a fucking soccer mom car

@eltopo, The same happened to me, It was right after I took it to have the oil changed. Were able to do something? I have the same car, same situation, no admin key...
