I'll only owe $20,000 when I get outta here, which is fine for a liberal arts degree, but it took a lot of work keeping a 4.0 and holding down a full time job while also earning some scholarship money at the college newspaper. And it's been 6 years since I graduated high school so I've had to take my time in order to balance all of it... But $20,000 ain't bad.
Now I just gotta figure out WTF I can do with a degree in English, other than teach.

She'll be the love interest who works in the lab as a regular vet, but is brought in to help on special cases.

Exactly! English writing degree with a minor in History.

Obviously you should be traveling the world unraveling mysteries like the Daa Vinci Code or National Treasure folks.

Mr. Black Fact: I went to law school with Kathy Reichs' (the author whose books Bones is based on) son.

Show's placed in Friday night time slot. Fox also airs it's episodes out of whack. Show gets canceled and gains a cult following.

Neat.
I couldn't recall her name, but I love that show and have been tempted to try one of the books. I worry they might be lame though.

Wrong. The show gets a big time slot after American Idol and then is placed on a block with House, leading to it becoming a smash hit.
Then after 3 seasons they retool the whole thing, move it to 4 different nights over the course of 5 months, and then the show is blamed for failing.

They're pretty typical forensic science thrillers, from what I've heard. It's basically the show, but as a book.

It's about the only thing I'm qualified for.

Fuck those are just old wives tales. I'm waiting for some Government to come up to me and help them look at a recently uncovered hybrid pyrimad in the south pole. Course then again.. that abandoned town next to it doesn't sound all that pleasant. Wonder why that town just vanished all in one night.

If it's got the same level of funny as the show does, it could be fun. My concern is that it's a lot like CSI: The Book and isn't as fun as Bones is.
