I have started a new column at Paperback Reader. Its all about Battlestar Galactica. I've decided to give it its own thread, instead of using my review thread, so we can have a place to discuss all thigns BSG related.

Here's the first column of Galactica Log!

Tuesday. I just finished rewatching season one, so I'd better get a move on with season two.

We're DVRing this of course. But we're also making plans to watch the 11pm repeat so we can see it in glorious HD. Xavy'll be asleep, and Neva will likely stay asleep on Vicki while we watch. It means having to sit through commercials, but since there isn't a good HD DVR with Hard Drive on the market just now, it's what we have to do.

I'll be relying on Limewire, I'm afraid. I need to start masking my IP so I can watch things online.

This week's Galactica Log looks at the first episode. Check out the link to the population stats.

I know there are a couple of problems. The apostrophes are all squares. I have no idea why. And the picture cuts off the text when its supposed to be to the left of it! I am emailing the webmaster about fixing them.

So, what did you guys think of the episode?

I wanted to get into this show when it started, but the thing I liked most about the old show was the Cylons... the silver ones that seemed to have evolved from K.I.T.T. :(

They put in an appearance in Razor and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some in this season.

I might give it a shot then. Jess loves it, but he's already talked me into watching Torchwood and Dead Like Me... neither of which I've started yet.

This week's Log has been a coding nightmare. I am not sure why, but whole paragraphs were skewed. Some dropped altogether. I've fixed a lot, but here is the piece as it was meant to be published.

Love this show. I consider it among the best sci-fi ever in any medium.

Very much enjoyed the first episode. It looked like they were given a little more money because that opening battle was one of the sickest in the show's history.

Great review, David!

One minor nitpick though. Unless that Raider that scanned Anders also read his mind, then they likely wouldn't know about the Four. They would know that ONE of the Five is with the human fleet, I should think. I mean, that's a big universe, after all. Who knows where those other four are? :)

Well... that is nitpicky, but true. As viewers we do know more than the Cylons.
