Mary just started watching it a few nights ago, and she is pulling what I call "A Former Shawn." That is, I call her in the middle of an episode and she's not all there in the conversation because she REALLY wants to finish the episode but won't say it. She's on episode 5 now and says she might want to watch an episode or two when I visit. Heh.

I have the sense, when I'm in the middle of an episode of something (BTAS, House and LOST, when it's back from hiatus, are my current watches), to tell her I'll call her back when the episode is over. 8)

I got my mom hooked on Damages. She's so into it, she said to me yesterday: "I can't even explain the last episode because it was so great and so full of twists!" and I was like "aight."

But...but...you and your mom can connect on an emotional level over a TV series! Why do you just say, "aight?"

Does that mean that, as I was the one who introduced you to the show, by extension I got your mom hooked on Damages? :P

Well, I wouldn't say you introduced me, because I saw commercials for it while I was watching Rescue Me, but I will say that your recommendation is what convinced me to tell my mom to watch it. So yeah, you got her hooked on Damages. Now if only you can get her to stop watching American Idol and Dancing with the Stars...

And I respond to most things on an emotional level with "aight" which may be one of the many reasons I haven't had a steady girlfriend in ages...

Me and the Mother watched Dexter a few times, but then I left. She wanted to watch some CSI with me but I only like NY and she prefers Vegas.

I tried to get my mom to watch Rescue Me, but it was too much man-drama for her. She's started watching Raptor games with me though, which is pretty cool. We usually watch The Hour with George Stromboulopoulos during dinner (yeah we eat at 8pm...). She likes Damages because she used to work for lawyers and Glenn Close's character reminds her of some of the lawyers she's worked with.

My parents got me hooked on House. Oh, how I love and resent them for that...

I like the occasional House. Not a regular watcher, but if there's nothing else on I'll watch and enjoy it.

I don't think I watch any shows my mom watches.

My dad got me hooked on 24.

I got Vicki hooked onto Buffy and Angel.

That's only 3 hours per each of those days.

You're gonna make me appeal to your more base traits, aren't you?

I feel like I'm the lone voice crying out in the wilderness here, but this show has always just bored me to tears.
