Bleeding Cool is saying that's a rejected design and this is the final one

Not a whole lot better. He's still clean-shaven, skinny, and stylish.

"What are three things Lobo should never be, Alex?"

Also: he should never be serious. Lobo is not meant to be scary and serious, he's the satirical embodiment of hyper-violence. QUIT TAKING HIM SERIOUSLY!!!!

Looks that way. I'd take it over heroin-chic Lobo anyday.

But I always thought the character looked silly to begin with.

Yeah, I understand that's a different drawing, but it seems to have all of the offensive qualities of the drawing I initially pulled from Newsarama.

They look like completely different drawings because yours is one of a slew of rejects. Sorry bro, they don't look the same at all, they just use a couple similar elements. Yours isn't "Lobo in the New 52".

First off, shit is still shit. And both of those designs are shit.

Second, the enraging parts of the design are still intact. He's an effete, pale, rail-thin dandy who looks nothing like Lobo.

Third, should I edit the initial post to reflect this drawing? I don't want to do my fellow Outhousers a disservice, like Dan Slott enjoys doing to our mothers.

He got glamorized like the Wall was. At least it a step towards equality. :smt102

I think the second one would have been tolerable. The first is fucked. What's the deal with the star stud on his sternum?

Plus he looks bow-legged there in the first one. The second one is better, but let's face it you'd see him coming from a mile away. Maybe they plan to make a stealthier killer out of him and less the parody of '90s EXTREME violence--which, let's face it, is a pretty stale thing to base a character around in 2013.

I may be in the minority here because I thought the original Lobo was a shit character to begin with, but I can see DC's point with this redesign.

WTF is this rank?

The concept sounds interesting, if not terribly Lobo-like.

I actually like that first, rejected design based on the described concept. The "final" design isn't bad either. It might be worth a look.

I thought we were supposed to embrace radical new looks for existing characters? But if I can say this Lobo doesn't look like Lobo and not get flamed, that would be nice.

I actually don't hate this. I think the designer uses the same body type for every character, so I believe the writer when she says Lobo will be a lot uglier than this pretty boy. I would have rather seen actual pencils than concept art.

God, is this what being reasonable is like? I hate it.
