Read whatever the fuck you want. My highschool library had Madonna's book with all the nudey photos in it.

They used to round up and burn all kinds of things when I was a kid. Books, rock music lps, posters, that sort of thing.

Land of the Free, Home of the you can't read books and listen to music and hang posters on your wall that break the social norm.

Agreed. I think it's crazier than having it do it on one night that is called Halloween. Great for the kids, but how the heck would you remember who's already come by. Does that mean you have to give all the kids on night 1 something again on night 2? If that's the case I'm dressing in head to toe costume and have my 13 year old push me around in a stroller each night. Mounds are worth it.

Seriously. My house gets at least 200 kids at the door..

Well last night it was like local business and stuff gave out candy, tonight was the more house to house traditional trick or treating and their were some Halloween Festivals that we went too. Just the way it is now, though not many people do the house to house thing around here no matter what night Halloween is on to much bad shit has happened. In my home town two years ago, a father and his two kids were gunned down with an uzi by a drug dealer when they walked up on the guys porch. Wasn't even in a bad part of town or anything either, just a normal little suburb. Lights were on the porch and everyone else on the street was giving out candy. When they walked up on the porch the guy was tripping on some bad shit and thought it was the police. As soon as they rung the door bell he opened fire with and uzi, killing the 6 year old boy, and injuring the father and 8 year old boy. It's just a really sad and fucked up world that we live in.

That's horrible. I can understand people being shy about doing it there.

Most all of people in the neighborhood we live in now are all old folks. Only one of the houses we stopped at tonight were we greeted by anyone under the age of 50.

Anybody who gets pissed about Halloween religiously ought to be shot. It's a freaking religious holiday, for crying out loud.

As a religious scholar, shit like this annoys me.

I'd heard my town was doing something similar (having Trick or Treaters on Saturday instead of Sunday) but only because the kids have school the next morning, which could be rough if they stay out too late Trick or Treating Sunday night.

That's not the case, however, and kids are coming by tonight.
