Can you explain to me what a "fanwank" is? You asked questions and I have tried thinking of logical ways they can be explained. If you didn't want logical reasons than why would you ask the questions?

Fanboy 1: "In Evil Dead II, Ash's chainsaw-hand CLEARLY switches hands when he is in the basement. When will Sam Raimi address how this could happen? It doesn't make sense."

Fanboy 2: "Well, maybe Ash walked by a mirror or--"

Fanboy 1: "Ha! Fanwank!"

Fanboy 2: "What does that mean?"

Thanks for taking the effort to answer my question by providing a link that does not work for me. Google is not everyone's friend.

So what you are saying is that it makes no sense that Ellen can create defences to hide glowing spines (she herself wanted to stay hidden) and stuff but she does have the technological knowhow to create articial life and make them look human? I don't think I am taking a huge jump here. Now if you asked me why the spines glow... I have no idea. The definition of fanwank is that something doesn't make sense and you have to make a bunch of assumptions to try and explain it but them not finding out, it isn't a stretch to me. I wasn't asking the same question as you because it makes sense to me that if you are intelligent enough to create beings that look human and you want them to stay hidden, that you would use your intelligence to make sure that they have defences against X-rays and such.

I don't think you are asking the right questions. If you asked the question about cylons aging and somebody gave you an answer then you would be on to something.

Fanwank = To fill in plot holes or explain away lapses in continuity in fictional works by coming up with (often convoluted) explanations of how it could have happened.
