I would suggest working the shift. There's nothing you can do about it and it's not worth getting fired for a couple extra hours to hang out. If you can just work 4 hours and then take her to a nice dinner or something it is better.
Also what do you do? It sounds like you work in a butcher's shop or something. I had no idea.

I do work in a butcher's shop. I'm the fella who takes a part the saws and wraps the meat up for the night that's in the front that's "fresh".

Cool. I would really suggest going into work as there's not likely to be a job like that that's hiring elsewhere.

No i mean the ground meat and cut up meat still hanging on the saw blades that weren't cut off and that I have to clean off the damn saws.

I know but doesn't help with the current job market. I was thinking around this time period to leave but then this damn recession happened.
