hopefully he doesn't look quite as skinny as the last guy when he is in the suit; not saying he has to be a body builder, but supes should have a core

Isn't it..

"Truth, justice... and all that stuff!" :smt102

I don't see why it would matter what nationality an actor is, regardless of the character.

As long as the accent is not an issue, it doesn't matter. Get the best actor available.

You would have liked the other guy in the running.. Joe Manganiello from True Blood.

Dude is ripped:

But he doesn't look like Superman to me, so I'm happy with Cavill.

Ah, Flash Thompson from Spider-Man.

His character sucks on True Blood.

I look forward to a Superman movie where Superman does something more than just stare through windows, and get beaten up by Lex Luthor's lackeys.

The only part of that movie I liked was the airplane scene.

That part pissed me off too. No way Lane wouldn't be all beaten and battered after that.

That guy is a bit more ripped, but yea doesn't look like superman.

I'm not saying he has to be a body builder, but superman should be a solid looking guy like Reeve was; there is a difference between being a big guy and being a skinny guy that has put on some muscle.

Seconded. Superman should always a very athletic guy with a great torso, not simply to please the fans and make the character's feats of strength slightly more believable but to attract the ladies to the theater in order to see the actor showering. :-D

Chris is wrong, Routh did fine as Superman and was really the only decent thing about the movie.

It wasn't just that, you could totally believe that he wasn't Superman.

A British Superman?

Even as a Brit I'm uncomfortable with this, Superman is an American icon, and as such, should be portrayed by an American.
