Some relationships just sorta end that way. Not with a big blowout fight, not with a huge tearfest, but with a couple goodbyes that eventually drift off until both of you are more secure in where you're going. Girl I dated in law school was like that. We had a run of really serious months, but then she moved away, and we started growing apart. So we decided to split, but kept seeing each other a few times after that. It was odd, but at the time we weren't seeing anyone else (although I think she may have started, but I've never cared enough to dig into the truth) and it was a decent way to break up.
But I'm glad you choose which one you want to be with. Dating more than one person is hard. Heck, dating one person can be hard, and it's increases in effort exponentially.
