When asked about the recent announcement that Marvel would be killing off one character per quarter, Matt Fraction noted that the announcement curiously lined up with Fear Itself, which would last for three quarters. Between that comment and the nature of Marvel events, it seems like almost a sure thing that someone will bite it in Fear Itself.

As mentioned in last Saturday's article, Idiot's Guide Weekly is holding a Death Pool guessing who will be first to die in Marvel's upcoming event.

The rules are simple: Pick the character that you think will be the first to die in Fear Itself (the main title). Any currently alive Marvel character is acceptable. Once a character is chosen, no other contestant can pick that character. Other than that....THERE ARE NO RULES!

Submissions will be accepted til March 15th, a day before Fear Itself kicks off with Fear Itself: Book of the Skull.

What's the prize? Your choice: A David Finch-signed hardcover copy of New Avengers: Breakout OR a copy of Earth One: Superman.

Hopefully, we can get some good participation this time around. Yay for needless death in comics!

Sin should die if she's going to be the one that awakens the Fear thing.

Well, let's see...

Scott Lang died in Disassembled.
Bill Foster died in Civil War.
Wasp died in Secret Invasion

I'd say that makes Atlas a strong possibility. But I'm going to go with Falcon.
