Important Moving Question

Postby Lord Simian » Tue May 08, 2012 1:38 pm

So, tomorrow is moving day. My wife and I are moving to a two bedroom apartment, so we'll have space for the kid. As of tomorrow, my daughter will already have her own room.

The question I have is, should I hang my replica Captain America's shield in her room? She's already gonna be nerdy, but...

Ask the wife first, but I'd say go for it. :drunk

This can only backfire...

If you give your child access to it... she won't care.

But if you make getting to interact with the sheild difficult to obtain she will want it all the more.

Attach it to the ceiling over your own bed.

Just mail it to me. You know your wife isn't going to let you hang it anywhere anymore.

It's over, Simian.

Go ahead and do it. you'll have your 15 minutes of pride with it on the wall before your wife tells you it is time to take it down.

Hey I'm the one who doesn't have a wife. I could hang it without problems at my house. :x

Semi-related note, my husband was asking when I'd get a piece of comic art that'd be suitable for framing. I've got permission to buy art! Woohoo!

My wife just spent a bunch of time carefully bubble wrapping it. She wants it, my framed Alex Ross canvas Avengers print, and my wall sized king Kong movie poster hung up. She offered the option of baby's room, living room, or our room. She cares not, long as it's up.

Sorry guys, Lady Simian is a nerd too. Remember: she did the Marvel Movie Marathon too, and she did it 7 months pregnant. That's dedication.

I'd keep the shield out of the kid's room. Even if you put it where she can't reach it, she might find a way to knock it down on herself, or it might fall on top of her due to some other circumstance (earthquake, broken nail, etc.). Put it somewhere where you can easily keep an eye on it, i.e., not in her room where you may send her to play, and put it somewhere where it won't likely fall on her if it does come loose from the wall.
