A few weeks ago someone made a statement that Ultimate Spider-man was the most consistent title in terms of it's quality over the last decade and it struck me that Invincible was the only comic that could really compete with it in that regard.

What do you think, which title has been consistently better?

Invincible.

Ultimate Spider-Man is a great book but with Miles (a new Spidey) and the rotating art teams on USM make it the less consistant of the two.

Kirkman and Ottley are closing in on the record breaking run of Bendis and Bagley too.

Ryan is a great guy too. I spent 20 min talking to him as he signed my HC's and drew a sweet Mark and Eve sketch @ NYCC.

Bagley was there but his line was fucking ridiculous to wait in. I love Mark but fuck that.

Isn't Bendis and Bagley's record for an uninterrupted run? Corey Walker has return for a few fill-ins over the course of Ottley's run. Ottley's far more to my taste, but he's not a 30 pages a month machine like Bags.

Invincible

Even if we take Ult Spider-Man only up to the death of Peter, Invincible was more consistently good, and even when it is low, its not Morpheus (the story-line) levels of bad

It was but when you take out Corey's stuff, Ryan's run will be insane.

True but when Bags does those 30+ pages, it looks like shit. See DC's Trinity. Some of those pages were bad and I love Mark.

Toss my vote in for Invincible basically because of Ottely. His sticking around as long as he has with Kirkman just gives Invincible the edge artwise.

Ottley can take a pretty good Kirkman script and elevate it to great.

Yep.

His work is incredible sometimes. Esp. the fight scenes. The one with Conquest was intense.

Oh definitely. I don't think anyone currently out there can do fight scenes as well as him.

I think Ottley is one of the best.

The only one I can think of that stands out more to me than Conquest was Planetary #16.

Invincible had more originality (IMO) because after about 20 issues I got sick of Bendis rehashing all his fav Spidey things from his childhood. As simplistic and often juvenile as I find Kirkman, I did stick with Invincible for 50 issues.

I voted Invincible even though I've never read USM. :band But it is Bendis so I know its garbage and I love me some Invincible.

I can't think of a time when I wasn't loving Invincible. Whereas with Ult Spidey, there was the Geldoff issues and the Wolverine mind-swap, and the arc with Deadpool, and any time Shocker showed up, and the Hobgoblin stuff.
