With all the reports of urban sprawl, food shortages and famines, etc, should we all start imposing limits to the amounts of children people can have?

I'm all for it. Overpopulation is definitely one of the bigger problems on this planet, if not the biggest.

It makes sense in theory. But when you take into account that much of the world doesn't have access to/have interest in/believe in birth control, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

People that concerned about overcrowding should just kill themselves, first. and/or their own children.
That would have an impact.

Overpopulation is generally a local problem, not a world-wide one. World-wide birthrates have declined by half since the 1950's, and will likely continue to decline. More efficient distribution of resources is the real solution.
