There's no point and that's why they haven't done that. Each season 1+2 are 26 episodes. So after this seasons ends that's the 52 they paid for.

Well I guess the good news is that if they reach the 52 episode mark then they'll have resolved all the dangling plot points that are out there.

Most modern cartoons have short 13ish episode seasons. The fact this show is doing full 26 episode old school styled seasons means even if it only goes two seasons it's a lot more than we get of many shows and it's hard to be too angry about getting 52 episodes.

It's still sad though, since it's a great show.
