Question: Can you get Johnnie Walker Double Black in the US? If so, approximately how much is a bottle?

The two largest liquor stores in my area show that they have it in stock according to their websites. No information about pricing though.

Oh yeah, the US has a stupid tax system.

For us here it makes up 10% of the RRP.

I'll try calling the stores tomorrow for pricing info. When I tried earlier, neither store was open. Seems like an odd day for a liquor store to close/close early.

Wine, Spirits and More, about a mile from me, has it for $26.95. Figure a couple of buck tax.

$45 a bottle on this website (which I think is in the Chicago area)

I wish I liked Scotch, but I'm way more into Bourbon. Must be the sweetness plus the smokiness.

I also searched the ABC system in NC (ugh, I love this state, but miss the Liquor Barns in Kentucky) and it only shows JW Black, which probably means it's not the Double Black you seek. Stupid ABC system is a monopoly. :smt011

Hey Coyle, how much is a bottle of Maker's Mark bourbon usually?

Also, how much does a regular bottle of Johnnie Walker Black go for? Here it's about $55/750ml (in Ontario).

I bought my buddy a bottle of Maker's Mark for about $45 in Alberta.

Holy shit - that's like $20 a fifth here, maybe $25.

Have you tried Maker's 46? It's quite good.

(I grew up 25 minutes from the Maker's distillery, yet my county was a dry county. )

 I new we paid a lot of taxes on liquor but I didn't think it was THAT much!

I don't drink. I was just trying to figure out how much some of these booze bottles were. My mom bought some double black at the Dubai duty free.
