Japan's Tower Records revealed that anime studio Shaft and director Akiyuki Shinbo (Madoka Magica, Monogatari) have been attached to a project inspired by vocaloid producer's Jin (aka Shizen no Teki-P) Kagerou Project (Heat-Haze Project). The anime will share the name of Jin's first album, Mekakucity Actors. Hinting at the format, they say that the airing date hasn't been decided.
The official website for the Aikatsu! idol school television anime announced on Saturday that a second series will premiere on October 3. The website began streaming a television commercial that features the new characters Seira Otoshiro, as well the accompanying new Data Carddas game card lineup.
This year's 38th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine is previewing the new manga series UQ Holder! by Ken Akamatsu (Love Hina, Negima! Magister Negi Magi) on Wednesday. Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine will publish the new series Grainerie by manga creator Rihito Takarai. The series will premiere in the October issue on September 18; this is Takarai's first title in this magazine.
