Last TV Anime With Physical Cels Makes Digital Transition

The Sazae-san television anime announced on Friday that it will be making the change from cels — transparent sheets on which animation frames are drawn — to digital production next month. According to the Association of Japanese Animation, Sazae-san was the only anime remaining on the air that used hand-drawn cel animation, and with it changing to digital, there will be none left.

Attack on Titan Staff & Cast: More Anime Not Green-Lit Yet

Pony Canyon pre-screened the last episode of Attack on Titan on Saturday at a live event that streamed in theaters across Japan. The ending card for the 25th and final episode of Attack on Titan hinted at a cliffhanger.

Director Tetsuro Araki, producer Tetsuya Kinoshita, animation producer Tetsuya Nakatake, manga editor Shinataro Kawakubo, and voice actors Yuuki Kaji (Eren), Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa), and Marina Inoue (Armin) attended the event for discussion. Hajime Isayama, the writer and artist for the manga, was a last-minute special guest for the event. After the last episode screened, the staff and cast all implied their intentions and desire to continue the anime in the future. However there has been no green-light given just yet.

Huh. Haven't seen this yet.

Gunpla Spotted in Barnes & Noble Stores

Continuing the trend of Bluefin/Bandai/Tamashii products apparently hitting Barnes & Noble chains, Bluefin has shown that Gunpla (Gundam Plastic Model Kits, for the uninformed) has been hitting store shelves of local Barnes & Noble chains. If you do not see them at your store, do not fret, you can order them online or have your store order it for you and come pick it up at a later date. Also, more stores will soon be having them in their shop as they get more stock, so soon enough you'll be able to go to your local store to pick up your favorite kit. Best part of all is they're priced reasonably, being the equivalent of buying it with shipping fee's from Japanese retailers.
