I'm Russ. I have a son who's almost a year and a half old, a wife I married about a year ago and presently are evacuated from our home as a result of the flooding in Upstate New York. We live in Binghamton, in New York's Southern Tier region, and have for about two years.
I'm a huge fan of Dan Jurgens, whose Superman I grew up reading and who later became my first friend in the comics industry when I was a lowly Wizard Magazine intern. I also love the work of Terry Moore, a more recent acquaintance. Both of these guys will have regular interviews here at the site as a result of my being a writer here.
Between the baby, my day job and writing here and at another comics site, I don't have much of a personal life. Cali and I try to get out for dates regularly but that's about it. I spend a lot of our free weekends at my mother-in-law's house, which is where we're holed up now while our place has no electricity.
Besides Wizard, I've also written for Newsarama and was a regular blogger there for sometime; and Comic Related, where I wore a lot of hats, including doing the Panel Discussions podcast and my longtime column The Gold Exchange. Both of these will find their way to The Outhouse in one form or another.
I'm presently writing my second graphic novel. My first, which is about half-illustrated, will never see the light of day for complicated legal reasons but when we finish drawing the sucker I'll be happy to show it off to friends.
So be my friends.
