I think I got a shot this year so I'm gonna ride it out and rebuild

Oh, I think you do too, but I think there are ways to trade and still contend for this year while making next year stronger as well.

For instance, I'd recommend moving Ichiro (because your offense is pretty strong) to a team for some pitching depth that will help you this season that might better serve you next season as well.

Honestly, every team is still in striking distance (the last place team is only 1.5 games behind the first place team).

Yeah but who's really going to give up anything special for Ichiro? I'd move Moises Alou or Milton Bradley. Or even Magglio. You could probably get a useful outfielder back, and still get some future help.

They can play Ichiro in a corner OF spot still. His arm in RF is an asset.

Personally, I wouldnt give up too much. Knowing that I get him for half a year, and his high salary(which would make it tough to match up), I cant see how much value he has to a team that has a CF. Yeah, I could put him in RF, but again, cost benefit analysis.

Maybe in a deal for Joe Blanton? She'd still have Kazmir, Duchscherer, Meche and Pelfrey for next season and is starting players like David Dejesus and Jack Cust in the OF. She can move Swisher to 1B and play an OF of Cust, Granderson and Ichiro. Maybe have her throw in Melky or Dejesus to fill your hole in CF if you throw in something.

Yeah, but you'd also get salary relief next season if you can throw in someone who is going to have a bad card next season

Honestly, if I was Danielle, I'd move Joe Blanton and a pick for Ichiro.

Keith strengthens his SP this year, gets a pick for next year and Danielle gets Ichiro for this season to make a playoff push and the salary relief because Blanton's card doesn't look that impressive for next season so far. I think that benefits both sides

Well...it's a five-team league. Its going to happen with any move you make. None of us are going to allow ourselves to be ripped off.

I think you should pick up Zito off the free agent wire to be honest. It's only a buck for this season and he has a decent card IMO
