For a teaser, it's okay but could have been better. It's much like the Amazing Spider-Man one, not enough of what will really get us interested and confident in it.

It's a teaser.

Their job isn't to fill the screen with action and shit. It's to tease. I'm sure the first real trailer will have more.

Hell, look at the Dark Knight teaser, which didn't even have ANY footage..

If you didn't know any better, you figure the film was about some scruffy guy making a living in Alaska in all sorts of jobs and some kid playing Superman with his dog around the laundry drying in the wind. Then BOOM, Superman goes flying straight up. Seriously, that's poor push for the film, a film about Superman.

Except we all saw the members before hand in their very own movies. This is an all new Superman film. If you went in not knowing that trailer is about Superman... you'd think it was something else. With Avengers, you knew at any point that that is what it is, The Avengers. Dark Knight... we could see it being Batman thanks to the prior films. For Batman Begins... action scenes.

If the trailer here had people reacting to seeing a Superman save or crook stopping... the physical results and only glimpses of Superman and THEN the flying clip... that would work more to generate interest as it would SCREAM Superman, not Super Alaska Working Bum.

Problem is, it looks a lot like the teaser for the previous film.

All this trailer showed me is that the movie is more than likely gonna be even more boring than Superman Returns.

With Iron Man it was a first for the character and for any character really flying. It also was a dramatic punch. With Superman it would work better if it was oriented as not being upwards for one. Also if it really better conveyed that he was breaking multiple sound barrier speeds and was going trans-sonic.

Eh. I dunno. I think comic fans are getting really cynical and overly critical of things (shocking, I know).. the reaction to the trailer has been overly positive from people I know who've seen it.

The knock against it that you wouldn't even know it was a Superman movie until the last shot of the teaser is lame - a lot of trailers these days operate that way. It's a teaser trailer. Also, the shots of little kid Clark in a shirt and jeans and a makeshift red cape doing the Superman pose in Smallville, and the voiceover make it pretty clear.

The reaction from the longer footage shown at SDCC, which showed more action-y stuff, was also mainly positive.

The movie may suck, and if it does, I'll gladly bash it because I have no attachment to Superman at all -- hate the comics usually (Red Son, ASS, Whatever Happened... etc, are exceptions) and hated Superman Returns -- but a minute long TEASER trailer is far from enough for me to pass judgment on the whole thing already. :lol:

The "I'm not going to watch this movie based on this" comments are kind of weird. You guys rush to judgment so quickly on these things - remember X-Men First Class?

What did Man of Steel tease? THE SAME OLD SHIT we've seen in the last Superman movie. People wanna see the shit going down man. They wanna see Superman HITTING SOMETHING!!!

Trailer or no trailer, I'll be watching it at some point. I'm just that much of a comic book fan.

XM:FC was great despite lousy casting with Emma Frost.

Yeah I remember seeing the first still photos of First Class and thinking that movie was really going to suck based on those, so glad I was wrong. Once the movie was released and I started hearing all the positive praise from those that had seen it I went and saw it and loved it, my favorite of all the X-Men based movies thus far.

It is however more than just this teaser that has my hopes very low for seeing a good Superman movie next year. It's the people involved with making the movie that really makes me not want to see it. I have already stated in a couple other threads that I am not a fan of Nolans style of film making and most of Zack Snyders movies have been very lackluster to me as well, with the exception being his remake of Dawn of the Dead which is my favorite Zombie related movie of all. I don't want to see a somber, grim, and gritty movie about Superman where he doubts himself and all that other nonsense. I want to see a movie where Superman flies around smashing the shit out of giant evil robots or something like that. A good old fashioned block buster pop corn eating summer movie!

Look you wanna catch people's attention you get them to do something that attracts their eyes toward the screen and go, :shock:

Look at this teasers:

Both have footage not seen in the actual movie, but I'll be damned if those teasers are more appealing than freaking Man of Steel.
