One of the most annoying ideas ever. I never really like that particular act by Richard Donner.

Just saw it and I enjoyed it. Heh my first few thoughts when I saw the scene in question

1) holy crap I cant believe they just did that!
2) huh, I didnt know you could even snap their necks
3) so does this make him go never again and state he'll never kill?
4) well there's gonna be bitching on the outhouse over this one

All in all I enjoyed it, it was nice to see Superman actually fight and not just lift heavy stuff, although I didnt really feel the emtional connection between clark abd lois, felt like they knew each other for 10 minutes hoe emtionally connected could they have really been by the end

No, it's your loss. You miss out on the true essence of this great character because you're so cynical that you will accept Superman resorting to murder to stop a villain.

If this sort of "grim and gritty" morass is all we can expect from DC superhero movies from now on, that loss will only multiply.

Absolutely. Thought it jumped around too much at the beginning as well. Otherwise, a pretty great movie though.

How am I biased? I hate the Nu52 Superman and most of the other titles.

Everyone has biases.

I didn't judge the movie until I actually went to see it. You are judging the movie based on someone who wanted their book on Supermans origin on the big screen and didn't get it.

Actually, he got quite a bit of his book in there, as he himself mentions. If anything, that should have made him an unabashed supporter of the movie.

Waid didn't want his book on the big screen; he wanted SUPERMAN on the big screen. And when that "Superman" killed, he realized that he didn't get what he wanted.

Did it bother you when he killed them in Superman 2? Or in the Byrne-books?

I'm not particularly impressed by your argument, either. So why don't YOU pipe down?

i laughed at that scene. he murdered a powerless harmless zod and even lois got in on the killing

for byrne it was kinda easy to avoid that massive thing by having it happen in an alternate universe where it can be forever buried and forgotten immediately after. just like the barda sextape. killing them to save future lives then refusing to kill other villains despite similar situations in the future was just bad writing in order to write a controversial ending.

I wonder if Superman killed Nazis back in the 40s?

everyone did. i believe cap and bucky even shoved the "ratzis" into their own ovens and every superhero was blatantly racist towards the japanese just like the looney tunes and disney cartoons were.

Didn't Superman also kill Zod and his two cohorts with Kryptonite in a comicbook if memory serves me? Also, Superman did try to destroy the Cyborg Superman after he destroyed Coast City after he came back from the dead as well.

If only someone had mentioned killing Zod in the comic book before...
