Hab
Yeah, I haven't seen anything about this on any entertainment site.
I'm hoping it's true, though.

Guys, this was all over the place a bit ago:

I remember reading this on several sites over the summer but IIRC it was mostly speculation.

Yup, if you type in an obvious Google stream like "Spider-man Avengers rumors" you'll see dozens of little entertainment sites, all alluding to rumors they heard about on another site, all wanting to be the first to "call it here", etc.

It could happen, but it reminds me of the Justice League movie echo chamber.

I've read wish-fueled 'rumors' and hopes that they would find common ground, but nothing that resembled "actually pretty close to a deal".

Feige basically shot down those rumors as saying there was initial discussion but nothing serious and they are not close.

I would believe this rumor exactly after the papers are signed.

Firstly, for instance, Feige confirms that there was a conversation about inserting Oscorp Tower into Joss Whedon's The Avengers film, which would have crossed the Spider-Man cinematic world (which is owned by Sony) with what Marvel is up to. Feige said in the end though that "the deal was never close to happening".

He also confirmed that there are no plans to bring Spider-Man into a future Marvel film. "They have movies they want to make, we have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to Thor stories, and Cap stories, and Avengers stories", adding that "it would be cool to happen sometime. But I don't know when that would be"

It would only help Marvel and do next to nothing for Sony (short of a huge payoff deal), so I could see Sony telling them to piss off.

This is silly. You should all be talking about the Marvel/Netflix deal.
