Ok, seeing things that weren't there... I do that a lot with these movies... it just seemed they were making a pretty big deal about being mysterious with the Cellist... and since I can't for the life of me think of any important Cellists in the Marvel Universe, it struck me as a bit odd, like they were making some kind of reference to something....

It could be argued that he said "he" instead of "she" but I thought I heard "she". Either way I don't care but I do think it was a "she".

Good thing he's not gay, because the actor who plays him isn't. I'm sure there would be outrage at a straight actor being picked over a gay one to play a gay character. Maybe.

The problem with Coulson in Avengers is he's a totally different character than he is in the other movies. He pretty much gushes over cap...the vintage trading cards...the begging for a signature...yeah I can see how he comes off as gay.

I don't see that at all.

He wasn't in Cap, so we didn't see his fanboyness, but it makes sense that a lot of people in the MU, not just Coulson, would be like that towards Cap. He's quite literally a "living legend".. it's someone most people in the present, especially people in the military, would have grown up idolizing.

The point was to make all the nerds in the audience identify with him so they would be sad when he died.
