The only reservation I had (a personnel one) was Nick Fury, I got into comics because of Steranko and Fury, Don't get me wrong I have no complaints, Jackson was awesome and he nailed it, I just wanted to see the original Nick done right and I don't know if I ever will at this point.

I wasn't so keen in SLJ's Fury because it feels to me like they wanted to cram the Ultimate Marvel U(which I fervently hate) down of our throats, but since Battle Scar introduced ( read:"shoe horned") a Samuel L Fury analog into the 616, it no longer bothers me.

who and what Thanos was to the people around them? I mean talk about geek moment, they all wanted to know.

I sure did. I literally lept from my chair to applaud that moment. Then everyone around me wanted to know who he was and what it meant.

It probably would have been cheesy but in Britain that was what the movie was called and it doesn't seem to have hurt its reception one bit so I think they could have made it work.

Just got back.

Going into it, I expected it to be a very good movie, something along the lines of Iron Man. Well I can't believe after all the hype that this exceeded my expectations more than I could've imagined. What a fucking awesome movie! I have 0 complaints.
Also, I went into the movie thinking that RDJ would just steal the movie, get all the best lines and overshadow everyone. Not only was I wrong and everyone had great moments, but everyone was overshadowed by THE MOTHERFUCKING HULK! Every Hulk scene was either awesome or hilarious.
Even the two I thought would be weak links, Fury and Widow were great. Big props to ScarJo who was amazing.
Everything was awesome. Some guy pulled a "Vader is Luke's father" moment while I was on line to get in, spoiling the last scene, but I didn't care.
Just amazing.

Just got back from seeing The Avengers for the second time and it was just as good if not better the second time around! Was able to catch a few little bits and pieces that I missed the first go around, the theater was packed again and everyone went nuts again during the Hulk/Loki scene! Gonna be going at least one more time this week when we take Connor to see it on Wednesday after school!

I guess this blows away Twigg's "movies with aliens don't do well" theory.

I think that has A LOT to do with Whedon knowing how to script strong and competent women to gave her the chance to really break out and just go with it. She impressed me because she was not a sideline character she had some very strong parts in the film that served a point beyond showing her in form fitting leather.

I doubt we will ever see a Black Widow movie but Scarlet definitely gave an excellent performance in this film for the character.

Yes, you're right. And the best thing is, we don't need one. Hopefully the producers recognize that just because she was awesome in this movies doesn't mean there needs to be a Black Widow movie.

Also, this is as good as a place as any to put it, I believe - but would anyone disagree with The Rock playing Luke Cage in a Marvel movie?
