Why do you have less weapon options? Because I have pistol, rifle, shotgun, sniper, smg...

Yeah, that's why I have the armor piece that gives you 10% extra damage on headshots..K-something. What class are you using?

I dropped the SMG to keep weight to a minimum so my powers recharge faster. If you've fought Rei then you'll know what I'm talking about. Adrenaline Rush was a lifesaver against him.

I didn't see much of a difference in the damage between the Mattock and Vindicator. I was using the Mattock almost exclusively as soon as I picked it up, but it was heavy as shit and interfered too much with my Vanguard's Power Recharge. I had a zoom scope on it for accurate ranged fire, but realized, with a little trigger control, I can hit distant targets just as well without the scope.

I hated all the subguns in ME2, but I really kinda dig the Hornet. I had dismissed it as being just another shitty subgan, but loaded it with warp ammo, and it just eats barriers and shields. The first time it did that in combat, I was all, "WUT? Did that just happen?" So that's the subgun I focus on.

Shotguns...I like the absurdly tight grouping of the Spike Thrower. Was practicing with it in the Specter shooting range and was shocked by how accurate and powerful it is. But heavy. Which is why I gotta keep away from the Mattock's fat ass. The Disciple isn't nearly as tight as the Spike Thrower. Doesn't do as much damage, but it does stagger opponents, and it's so goddamn pretty. Both are great for post-Charge shots at point blank.

Pistols...ever since kirahee busted out with that Scorpion, I had to have one. It weighs more than some rifles and does more damage than most rifles in a single hit. But because it sticks an explosive charge on the target with each hit, there is a delay between the shot and the kill. With the scope, however, it becomes a long range monster. And then, there's the Arc Pistol, which does just slightly less damage than the Scorpion, but with a much higher rate of fire. Still heavy as fuck, though. But, you can charge up a single shot to get powerful one-hit kills on a some enemies.

I love the Paladin (Spectre) pistol. I've one-shot killed a ton of Nemesis from distances with headshots with it.

I think I'm going to drop the Mantis sniper rifle and give the Hornet a shot based on your thoughts if its that good.

Really was pissed off with the Thessia mission. Felt as though the end was just a waste of goddamn time which they could've handled in a fucking cutscene since nothing you do matters..

It's supposed to make you mad at Ling, I guess, but all it did was make me mad at Bioware for wasting my goddamn time. There is literally no point in fighting that mini-boss.

I guess I've been putting off finishing the game to run around and get bullshit artifacts and shit like that; doing all the N7 missions and what-not.

Is there a way to increase your fuel capacity in this game? The ship kept all the upgrades you made from ME2 except for that one for some fucktarded reason.

I don't know how it compares to sniper rifles since the weight of them caused me to give up my dreams of snipering people in games. Obviously, the sniper scopes can slow down time a bit, and the Scorpion won't do that even with a zoom scope. But shit, just compare the damage stats to any rifle, and you'll see what I mean.

Right now, I'm sticking with the Arc Pistol, because of the higher rate of fire. I hand the Scorpion off to Tali or EDI, let Ash rock the Black Widow, while I focus on shotguns and subguns, and it seems to work out well this way.

The mattock is basically my sniper rifle right now with shotguns for close and heavy damage while the pistol is for those overpowered bastards like banshees and brutes.

I kept the sniper rifle to deal with smokescreens but after playing the game for a while it feels redundant. Might as well try London with an SMG for a change.

I still curse EA every time i see that. So 2 years from now if we want to do another game to carry our save state to another game (EA did recommend we keep them after all) we have to pray the multiplayer community is still active?

I really don't get the whole War Room or whatever aspect.. I haven't tried multiplayer yet, but I guess I'm going to have to. I don't get what that War room console is all about though. I click on the various allies and sectors and whatnot and just see numbers without any sort of description of what I'm supposed to do with it.. just 50%.. 40%.. 2431.. etc.

The one thing this game severely lacks - direction in the menus.. It's evident in the Journal and here.

I want the Spectre rifle you can buy in the spectre office, but it's expensive as fuck. I'm almost at 200,000 credits though so I may spring for it.

Another thing that irks me about the whole franchise, not just this game - armor.

Why the fuck can't I customize armor sets? Your default stuff, and random armor pieces you find, sure.. but like, if you buy a complete armor set, you can't take off the helmet. It's stupid. What if I really like the armor, but I don't want the helmet?

I bought the sweet looking Inferno armor at the Citadel, though.. the preview in the shop made it look all Iron Man-y. It's almost all red, and the helmet visor had a yellow tint to it.

But then once I wore it, it was pretty generic. :(

Would've still liked to wear it sans helmet if I could, but I hate helmets.. it completely ruins cutscenes to not be able to see Shep's face.

Current loadout:
Raptor Sniper Rifle V (enhanced scope V, thermal clip III)
Mattock V (Magazine upgrade IV, Stability Damper III)
Hornet V (Ultralight V, Scope IV)
Paladin V (Magazine Upgrade IV, High Caliber barrel IV)
Disciple V (Smart Choke IV, High Caliber Barrel IV)

Thoughts?

They had a feature in Dragon Age 2, where you could chose the option to show or hide helmets. You still got the benefit of wearing a helmet, but it didn't show up.
