More likely that it's due to some mutation that has caused Bay to want to make them aliens.

If Bay is serious about this idiotic idea he will try and make this into another Star Wars epic where the Turtles are like Jedis, Splinter is Yoda, April is Leia, Casey Jones is Han Solo, Shredder is Darth Vader and the Foot are Storm Troopers. Please can someone grab Bay by the throat and point out how stupid his take is going be by force.

The only reason they did that was to get around to more violence and make this Shredder more genocidal.

Them being from a alien race could be fun. I mean, Predators gained a lot being a race more than a stealth thing that kills :smt102

The Predators have always been an alien race, though. Not sure what your point is, or why this should spark butthurt.
