Going cold turkey is the only way to go. It's rough, but I fully understand why they say you're breaking a habit. I didn't crave the nicotine after a few days, it was the habit of reaching my fingers into my pocket to grab a cigarette that wasn't there, and then that burst of want. You'll ignore that burst of want better and better.

I quit a few years back. Don't even think about it anymore.

I read somewhere that the nicotine-craving goes away after three days.
