I am going to get this started early as I haven't seen any other basketball threads around.

I am a huge NBA fan.

I am choosing the New Orleans Hornets as my team this season. I hope Chris Paul gets MVP. Peja is one of my favorite players. I like Bryon Scott and the team has this positive aura about it. I am psyched.

I used to be a big mavs fan, I still enjoy them a lot, but Dirk is a total flake. He often fails in the clutch. I was rooting for the Warriors last season against them. I love Don Nelson and his crazy schemes.

Steve Nash is one of my favorite players and the Suns are looking good as well. I am glad they got rid of Marion and the addition of Shaq is ok, he can be a lovable guy.

The teams I am against this year are the Lakers, Spurs, and Pistons. I hate those teams. They all seems like they have some entitlement to the title.

I like picking sides with each battle, but unfortunately those shady teams I hate win a lot, but it is fun when my teams win.

I cannot wait til the bracket is finalized.

Oh......my skin is tingling.

The mighty have fallen, and fallen SO FAR. And because of it? I feel for Knicks fans.

I'm thinking Celtics, actually.

The Celtics and the Magic are the only two teams that will make playoffs which I would enjoy watching. Lebron is fun to watch too, but the rest of the team, not so much.

Don't hate on Big Z! I love that guy.

I'll be rooting for Toronto, and hopefully they'll keep sixth place or go higher because they cannot beat Detroit or Boston more than twice in a best of seven.

I'm calling a Celtics-Lakers final, or Detroit-Lakers final because the Lakers are doing so damn well with Gasol. They really needed that second option because Odom is too well rounded a player to be that. Kinda like Michael Redd in Milwaukee.

I really don't want to see the Pistons or Spurs get past the second round because they are SO boring. I'd have more fun watching karaoke at the senior's home.

And if Kevin Garnett doesn't win coach of the year, the league is shit.

No. It's still 2008.

I don't think Doc Rivers is the coach of the Celtics.

I went with the Pistons because of their experience.

I watched the games on TNT last night.

Cavs flaked out totally against the Bulls. I am beginning to hate that team, unless they go against the Pistons.

Houston beat a sad looking Blazers team, boring matchup.

The segment on the Sonics drama was very good.

Here we go...

Anyway, here is my assessment of the playoffs so far...

EAST

Celtics vs. Hawks - The Hawks are really outclassed here, no doubt. They are going to have almost no chance, barring catastrophe to win this. Celtics win.

Cavs vs. Wizards - Wizards are done. They are so damn sloppy looking that it is pathetic. They need to take the time to find decent shots, instead of bricking up 3's 24/7. Cavs win.

Magic vs. Raptors - Orlando's defense looked strong. Bosh and Co. won't be able to withstand the Magic. Magic win.

Pistons vs. 76ers - 76ers have a lot of heart and the Pistons seem to have a hard time against such teams. Remember last year? Yeah it will happen again...76ers win.

WEST

Lakers vs. Nuggets - Not a chance for the Nuggets unless they start Kleiza or do something drastic. Lakers look just too strong. Lakers win.

Jazz vs. Rockets - I had the Jazz winning this before their 2 road wins, now it looks like a sweep and another 1st round loss for McGrady. Jazz win.

Spurs vs. Suns - The greatest first round matchup next to the Hornets/Mavs. This is going to be a battle and most likely will go 6-7 games. The first win was a fluke, Suns will win.

Hornets vs. Mavs - Hornets are clicking on all cylinders. This will be a good fight, but Mavs need more time to gel. Hornets win.

LeBronaliers are up 2-0. I hope Arenas is still glad they got to play them in the first round.

I almost feel sorry for McGrady as I saw the game last night and the Jazz wore the Rockets down but specifically him.
