NBC Chooses to Not to Pick Up Sixth Gun Series

NBC seems to want to stay in fifth place. Also, they suck donkey balls.

Source: THR

NBC, the network TV station that recently placed behind Univision during February's sweep season, has chosen not to move forward with a television adaptation of The Sixth Gun.  The high concept supernatural Western was passed on, despite the network still airing utter and complete filth such as Whitney, The Voice, and Revolution. When asked why the station passed on the pilot, an unnamed executive said that they'd rather support Nick Cannon's flailing career rather than put on a show that anyone cared about.

In other news, a recent survey showed that no one gave a shit about NBC anymore since they only had one half hour show that anyone still gave a fuck about.

Seriously, fuck NBC.  Fucking dbags.

NBC seems to have adopted a "They don't care, so why should we?" mentality when it comes to their programming. It makes me sad because they used to have some of my favorite shows but after Community and Parks and Recreation go, they won't have any more shows that I watch. I was actually looking forward to this series. :-(

Hopefully a better network picks this up.

This news is a wash for me.

How do we know that the pilot didn't suck? It might just need to be re-worked. Just saying...

Honestly? I'm glad. There is no way in hell that one of the broadcast networks would have done a book as fantastic as The Sixth Gun justice. Even if it was successful, the 24 episode per season grind would have sucked the life out of it, turning it into NCSI: Old West: Supernatural Victims Unit. I'm sure Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt got a nice little check from it being optioned, and now it can happen again, preferably with a cable network that could produce a series worthy of the book.

OH no. ;( That's really sad to hear. Not only is that bad for 6th Gun but that means The Damned might not get finished either.

This show will THRIVE on AMC. Thrive, I say. I predict, before the summer is over, we'll hear an announcement that either FX or AMC picks up this awesome book for a show. Honestly, I think NBC not picking it up is a hail mary pass for the creators. Anyone remember a little show called HEROES? The only thing worse would have been if FOX picked it up. Then it would have been cancelled before the end of the first season. This will be another win/win for AMC. A great follow up to Walking Dead, and something to fill the voice that BREAKING BAD is going to leave behind. Hear me now, O GREAT NETWORK in the sky----this is THE single best thing out there in almost 30 years. Yes, oh dead nerdites----even better then Walking Dead.

But they did renew Parks and Rec for a 6th season so that's good news.

And they finally killed Whitney! :-D :smt026

Maybe GWAC is on to something, maybe the pilot wasn't very good.
