Actually, I agree. The Office is like the emperor's new clothes for me and my wife. It seems like most people we know just LOOOVE The Office and have repeatedly told us to watch it. The handful of episodes (4, maybe 5?) we've watched were somewhat amusing, but not really that captivating, at least to the point that I would feel compelled to watch it every week.

And yes, I get that it is "subtle" humor; it's just not that funny. I'll take a Christopher Guest movie over The Office any day. :P

The Office isn't all that subtle, not compared to the UK version. I much prefer 30 Rock though. Not that I actually know which network makes what.

I don't like the Office either - but neither did I like the Ricky Gervais original. That kind of squirmy humour does nothing at all for me, I'm afraid.

NBC does suck. Heck I even began to lose interest in Heroes last season. Heck its been so long since I've seen it I probably wouldn't really care if it didn't come back on.

I think that is going to happen to a lot of shows, but especially to Heroes and 24. While the geek demographic will stick with those shows, who knows if the majority of the audience will come back to it when they return?

Heck dude, that's pretty harsh.

So what do you really think?

When you think about it, the vast majority of things suck.. so why should NBC be any different.

The Office is one of those shows where it's beneficial to watch from the very beginning. The show is character driven and it's great to see all the characters evolve each and every episode. Loved the ending with Ryan going to jail, hilarious

It's also good to watch with someone who knows what's going on..even if you get the subtle humor..you need the complete string.

My wife couldn't get into it until I forced her. Take note!Image

Aside from teh opener (dinner party ep), this season ws kind of a disappointment for me.

The only show I currently watch is Heroes. Season two was bad but they made improvements towards the end. I think the upcoming season has a lot of promise.

There are a couple new shows in their fall schedule that could be good. There's a Robinson Crusoe series. Also a new show called Kings starring Ian McShane that sounds interesting. I'll be checking those out.

And it's not a series but it looks like they have another Merlin movie coming out.

I definately should've added Heroes to my NBC list cuz that's one I always watch - it's just been soo long :(

And anything w/ McShane will surely get a look from me 8)

Since I bought their previous two Merlin movies it goes w/out saying I look forward to Sam Neill as Merlin yet again!!

...sigh...I didn't even finish this season of Heroes. I keep saying I'll catch up with it online, but I don't have any immediate desire to. For a comic nut like me, that's sad.
