New Toonami Line-Up Changes for July

The animation block will be reshuffling it's line-up along with debuting it's latest acquisition, Sword-Art Online.

Today Toonami unveiled it's new schedule starting July 20. Of course, no surprises that Sword Art Online is showing up, since it was recently announced to be joining the block.

Though with change comes some bad news. Both Thundercats and Symbionic Titan will be leaving the block (the former being permanent since AS says they'll be losing disturbing rights to showing it. As for the later they're just giving it a small break).

On the plus Big O returns with Season 2 being aired (which is always a plus since this reporter LOVED that series). Here's the new schedule:

12:00a Bleach
12:30a Naruto Uncut
01:00a One Piece
01:30a Soul Eater
02:00a Sword Art Online
02:30a IGPX
03:00a Eureka 7
03:30a Big O Season 2
04:00a Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
04:30a Cowboy Bebop
05:00a Inuyasha
05:30a Inuyasha

Wow. Looks like I was just in time to catch Symbionic Titan in full, one last time.

I thought that Toonami was canceled. I used to love watching Naruto, Zords (that was a thing, right?), and one of the Gundam series, but it was canceled then. Who would be watching anime past midnight?

You'd be surprised, AS is finding a new audience for that time-slot. So much in fact, FOX is declaring animation war starting next month with their own Saturday late-night animation slot to steal viewers into watching their shows.

SAO is the only recent anime on that list!

Well... at least it's one of the best in recent years.

My question is, why are they STILL airing Inu-Yasha?? They've been running that constantly for probably a DECADE now! Who is STILL watching it??

There are rumors that persist later this year they'll be showing the final season.

I believe you're thinking of Zoids.

I was waiting until they made a box set like past seasons, but I may have to break down and get the two halves instead.
