Nightfly lists his preferred picks among last week's newly released music videos.
Chasing The Matrix: Nightfly's Music Video Week in Review (week of 3/18/12)
Being a guy that enjoys giving credit where it's due I must mention the twitter feed of Jam Posse (a.k.a. Jody Peru). Several videos in this and last week's column were first learned of (by me) through Jody's tweets. In this installment, for instance, tracks from Ministry, Ryan Leslie, Sabi and Korn came via JP.
In my previous WiR column I featured Carrie Underwood's glamorous video for "Good Girl." I didn't realize then that a BTS Making Of clip was already available week before last via her official website, but, I figured sharing it now (late) would be better than never. I enjoyed hearing about the concept behind the costuming, maybe you will too.
Demi Lovato debuted this trailer last week teasing her upcoming video, "Give Your Heart a Break." The full video premieres April 3rd on E! and a day later worldwide on VEVO. While you wait, read about it here then watch Demi's semi-recent (Jan.) VEVO GO Show performance of the moving song here.
Justin Bieber released this teaser trailer (Saturday) for his new single, "Boyfriend," dropping today on iTunes. See a lengthier BTS clip here.
Talented actress Rita Wilson recorded a highly personal album titled AM/FM due out in May; last week she released a Making Of clip for it lasting a little over four minutes. As a fan, I gladly recommend checking out her charmingly thoughtful video (below).
New GetGlue stickers are available for a couple upcoming musical tours. Belanova's offering this one to promote their tour starting April 14th, and, by checking-in to earn the 2012 Vans Warped Tour sticker here you're automatically entered to win a pair of tickets.
It begins (in alphabetical order, except for the winners).... * Warning: videos below may contain mature content not suitable for all ages *
* Read about it here. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Beavis & Butt-Head Category: [showcased for various humorous values] "Stan's Plan" by A. Samuels * Read about it here.
"Perfection Neutralized" by Despite Exile * Read about it here. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Late Pass Zone: Just three to catch up with from last week... "Aeromancer" by CSLSX (ft. Mountain Man) * Read about this remarkably artistic video here.
------------------------------------------------------------------- Bonus Videos: To close out this edition I've chosen a super-cool Muppets clip from Jimmy Kimmel Live and a video highlighting the English speaking Artist nominees for the first Armenian Pulse Music Awards.
* I voted for TAMAR Kaprelian for Best Artist (in English) and not just because we're in each other's twitter fam. Watch the video for "New Day," excerpted in the above clip, here and buy her debut LP from iTunes here.
Thanks for once again joining the chase, hope to see you back here next time but until then Have a Great Week & Keep Your Groove On!
