Would you mind doing that for me at some point? I plan on applying for a job next spring within my company and could use some pointers on improving my resume.

When I translated mine to Swedish, I was advised to shorten it - in the UK a hefty CV is seen as a good thing, but I was told that mine could potentially intimidate employers here as I could be seen as having too much experience. Weird.

People get turned away for being over-qualified sometimes.

The employers are afraid they'll get bored with the job and quit when something better comes along. It's a valid concern. I've seen it happen pretty often.

I don't know much about the job market in Sweden, but in the U.S. a resume shouldn't be more than two pages, single-spaced with a size 10 font.

I.T. is a bit different, though. I commonly see resumes that are about 6 pages, but that's mainly because it's impossible to condense a career's worth of technical and financial experience into a couple pages.
