I look at parenting as this. An adult is training a child to become a self reliant adult. I don't see how keeping a child on the tit for any longer than needed helps this. All it does is make poorly prepared adults.

I still hold on firmly to my opinion that this will fuck up the kid in the long run, creating a self indulgent little shit who thinks the world owes him everything, and running to hide behind mommy at the slightest hint of difficulty.

There is a reason animals don't let their young suckle past infancy, its not natural, is not observed in the wild, and the same parents who do this kind of shit are the same ones who have their kids riding tricycles wearing helmets.
