Sony Productions announced today that Skyfall, the 23rd installment of the James Bond series, will begin production on November 7th.  The movie, featuring everyone's favorite suave British spy, will star Daniel Craig as James Bond and Dame Judy Dench as M.  Javier Bardem was confirmed as the movie's villain and Naomie Harris as a field agent named Eve. Albert Finney, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Bérénice Marlohe  were also named as playing supporting roles in the movie.

As provided in the press release, Skyfall will focus on the relationship between Agent 007 and his superior as a figure from M's past comes back to haunt her.  M tasks Agent 007 with hunting the villain down as MI6 falls under attack.  Rumors have begun to fly that this will be Dench's last appearance as M.

The movie will hit theatres in the UK on October 26, 2012 and the US on November 9, 2012.

Skyfall doesn't relate to any previous Bond title, or movie, apparently. And they don't have anyone in mind for the theme song just yet.

Weird. They have obviously been building to something and if other movies are a gauge, that ploy works well with audiences.

I would be shocked if this had nothing to do with the 2 previous Craig movies.
