I just finished the book.

 :o Awesome! 8) :-D

Some questions I will be asking in the discussion:
[Reveal] Spoiler: Click to Expand
Who cares if it's worse than being covered in cold pig's blood, why didn't Zzzap just fly in circles around the compound and drag his legs over every ex's head? Why didn't Zzzap incinerate Cairax's head? Why didn't Zzzap fight Casares?

Why was it a big deal that St. George was now capable of flying? Did he have to die a little to gain that ability, or did smashing the magic medallion do it, or was it the interaction of the ex-virus in his blood system?

Also, why was Casares called "Peasy" if he wasn't Patient Zero? :?

that's the problem with making uber 'superman' quality type superheroes, they should be able to handle all threats but that would make for a boring book...yea the explanation about why he didn't just kill everyone wasn't the best but at least it was dealt with. He was fucking great though...did you not get a huge grin on your face at the 'nuke it from space' line? :-D

I think his flying was big bc it sets up the next installment that he's even more powerful than he was. His powers are still evolving and he's becoming the ONE if you can pardon the pun.

I took him being called peasy to mean that he was the first infected by the regenerators girlfriend after she escaped from the apartment. Maybe that was why he could control the others.

Ok now when do we talk. I thought you said I had to have it done by today "Lover Boy"?

If people want to start throwing out ideas for the next novel, we can go ahead and start discussion.

Also, if anyone wants me to restructure how I do this a little, let me know.

I'm trying to figure out how to add a poll to the article so we can vote on rating the books (if I do, I'll edit the "Ex_heroes" article so we can vote.

Mainly I was wondering about when to post it... 1. sorry I put it up a day or two earlier than I said in here, I thought everyone was waiting on me. but 2. Do we want to post it like that or should I post it half way through the month so people can start talking about it?

Seems like everyone wanted to talk right as they finished it and started doing so in this thread, but they still held back. Just wondering if we want to do it the same... at the end of the month (or time period decided) or half way through.

Let me know.

I also changed the link in my sig to this thread instead of the book club membership page so everyone can easily find this thread later on.

I'm fine with starting the thread right away. I was just taken aback by the thread starting two days earlier than I expected.

I would suggest editing the OP with who is in the club, which books we have reviewed, and which books we are currently reviewing. Just to make it easier for more casual (ie can't do it every month). and new members

Good ideas.

Anyone else want to chime in on when to create the thread? Should we put it up when we choose the book or half way point of month or at end?

Alright. My first thought is Mike Carey's The Devil You Know. It is the first book in a series, but it is also a self-contained novel and there is no need to read on if you don't want to. I've already read it, but wouldn't mind giving it another read.

Whatever the next book is, I hope its one more readily available than Ex-Heroes, which sounds great, but I had to sit out.
