Yeah, I'm sure there will be the usual chorus saying just comply with whatever these fucks tell you to do, even if you were doing nothing wrong. I wonder if his mistake was mentioning his 4th amendment rights, that is a sure sign of a terrorist. Real Americans know they have one right, the right to do what you are told when you are told no matter what.

I live in AZ and have driven through that very checkpoint before myself. I got quite the third degree when I went through. Lots of BS questions about where I was born (Arizona!) and what I was doing.
It's like that pretty much all over AZ when you get stopped by a cop or any law enforcement official here.
It's well known not to fuck around with any of them as they will use any excuse to arrest or search you.
Now, our former Governor is in charge of the whole country. :roll:
