Well I don't think it's just a southern thing. I think it's an old people thing.
I know a few old-timers who are the same way and they aren't southern. I think they can get a pass, but at the same time that's when you realize that it's time to put them out to pasture.
I said pretty much the same thing about waiting for that mindset to die out. All she does is offer unhealthy recipes and use a (sometimes forced imo) heavy Southern accent when critiquing someone else's food, so her racial attitudes have never affected her job. It's silly to see so many get up in arms against her and be happy about her contractnot getting renewed when Food Network hasn't used her for more than a handful of gigs in the past few years.
By capitulating to the sensitives, FN may have just resurrected ger TV personality.
