Haven't seen it yet, but it's a CBS show which generally means it's crap. All their shows are so formulaic and by-the-numbers.
It was good, though?
Is there an overarching storyline, or is it just a case-of-the-week type show?

A little of both. Its clear theres sometype of big mystery but they dont really go into it. I actually really enjoyed it.
CBS either has really good shows or really bad shows. Theres no middle ground. Although I'm finding myself watching more and more of CBS.

It seems to be Birds of Prey without the powers and costumes is the first vibe I got of it.
But I still liked the first episode and am going to watch it.

Ummm maybe we're thinking of a different BoP? That entire show was about supervillians. This is a dude that can sort of predict when crime is gonna happen and sends in a former spook to help out.

The comic not the absurd tv show.
Mr. Finch = Oracle
John Reese = Black Canary

I think it'll start out like that, but they open the door to possibilities.
There is a crime family they introduced. Both Reese and Finch have back stories I'm sure they'll delve into. Great supporting characters.
The action was terrific.

Oh okay. That makes more sense. Personally I think this show is great which means it'll get cancelled before episode 10.

Watching it now. Pretty good.
Probably the best live-action Batman we'll ever see, IJSO (in jon salwen's opinion)

It's going to have to develop some overall storyline more than just Finch and Reese going after bad guys, and the cop chick trying to find out who Reese is and/or helping them.
It's an interesting concept overall, but it seems like it could easily fall into a very formulaic trap.

I watched the first episode and I liked it.
It did have a couple of issues for me.
Namely the "plot of the week" didn't make much sense and the swerve was only their to confuse the audience and didn't really feel real.
I'll watch it again next week and I'm hoping that they build up on an ongoing plot.
Even if they don't though I don't hate story of the week type shows. I just prefer them to be comedic like Psych.

It would seem the computer would be easier able to point out perpetrators rather than victims, since the perpetrators are the ones communicating about the upcoming crime.
