As for those other sports, mabye. Golf as a spectator sport? Only if Tiger's there.

Yeah, I was referring specifically to the masters there.

Phoenix Coyotes. Is that some kind of minor league baseball team or something?

The Rangers have to compete with Guelph, London, etc, though I suppose the Knights fans go to big games in Kitchener too. As for pricing, the two years I went to a Leafs game when I lived in Guelph, I didn't attend a single Storm game to save money.

While I was in Guelph, there were always students who wanted to go to Leafs games in Buffalo. Three extra Leafs game in K-W could hurt Buffalo sales. The Sabres might be able to keep their current southwestern Ontario fans but it would be hard for them to compete with the new team for new Ontario fans.

That being said, the Sabres might not be viable because every trip report I heard had the city looking like a ghost town.

The city of Buffalo is not doing so hot, even before the economy went in the tank.

And ultimately, I think there's more benefit to the fans in Southern Ontario by putting a team here. Buffalo needs to live or die on its own merits.
