Rumble U - a review

So I finished the game and...

Pro's
    Good, simple & fun game
Easy to progress through the levels (see con's)
    Lots of Pokemon to catch
    Unique Challenges to perform

Con's
It's too easy to progress through the levels (especially if you have a Kyerum figure)
Your Pokemon collection sets in an ever expanding pryamid with the back rows getting smaller and smaller to the point where they are barely dots.
Sometimes the screen is so packed you have no idea where your Pokemon is
No instructions for how to do simple things like sorting your Pokemon, searching for specific Pokemon, zoom in your collection, etc
There are no instructions for those things because the features do not exist! So if you need a Flying type you have scroll through all your 'dots' to manually find one.
There is a limit to the number of Pokemon in your collection and once you cap out, your lowest level Pokemon will disappear in favor of the new ones you capture - so if you didn't finish a challenge that requires Pokemon with power less than 250 - forget it! Ain't gonna happen without resetting the game.
There are no instructions for resetting the game!
The NFC Pokemon are practically useless. Kyerum excluded, the ones I have are less than 300 power so they aren't playable because they not powerful enough to stay in my collection (you can upgrade them with in-game money - but why bother because...)
There's no attachment to the Pokemon in this game. Yes I love Aerodactyl but he's only playable for one adventure before the newly acquired (and more powerful) Pokemon make him undesirable (if you could even find him in the 'dot' collection screen).
The NFC's are ugly! They should have used the Pokemon Trading Figure Game ones.

The game belongs to he kids now (but I'll be damned if I buy another NFC).

Never watched it yet, but as StaticVic said there was a couple of announcements during the Pokémon Direct today.

Serebii.net covered it.

Following the information from the Pokémon Direct, the official release has provided new details on the Pokémon. Mega Venusaur has the ability Thick Fat, Mega Charizard has the ability Drought and Mega Blastoise has the ability Mega Launcher which boosts its moves. It also confirmed that you will need to obtain a bracelet called the Mega Ring that holds a mysterious stone called a Key Stone. The Trainer’s Key Stone resonates with the Mega Stone held by his or her Pokémon. In addition to that, various screenshots were added. Our Mega Evolutions page was also updated
It was also revealed that Pokémon Bank & Poké Transporter prevent hacked Pokémon from transferring and work with multiple copies of the games.

Pokémon Bank:
Pokémon Bank is a piece of downloadable software that allows for you to store various Pokémon from your Pokémon X & Y games on the internet. It requires a yearly fee of 500¥ and has storage for up to 3,000 Pokémon. It also runs a trial for 30 days at any point until January 31st which is when it becomes a paid service.

Poké Transporter:
The Poké Transporter, known in Japan as Pokémon Mover, is a free bit of software that comes with the download of the cloud storage app, Pokémon Bank and allows for you to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Black, White, Black 2 & White 2 over to your Pokémon X & Y games. Poké Transporter only requires one 3DS system and is a simple programme to use, allowing you to transfer batches of Pokémon in one go by placing them into the Pokémon Bank box.

These Pokémon are transferred one way, and cheated Pokémon are unable to be transferred. Online is required.

They announced the Red and Blue Pokémon X&Y 3DSXLs for the USA & Europe. They release on 09/27 (before the game is released)...

Red version (blue looks the same but blue):

More from serebii.net

In The Games Department

Pokémon X & Y - Super Training

Pokémon Smash has just aired an example of the Super Training. Within this, it showed clarification of how the known mini-game works, where you have to use the touch screen to fire balls into various parts of Magneton while avoiding large balls as your Pokémon sits on a platform. After completion, you will see a numerical value added to the stat, in this case +8 on Special Attack. It's currently unknown what the numerical value is, whether it's giving specific Effort Values or a new value but we'll provide details as soon as we can
Edit @ 00:30: In the trailer for next week's episode, it also showed a battle where Mewtwo Mega Evolved while promising a shocking revalation about Mega Evolution, but they covered up the result of the evolution, with the host Shokotan seeming shocked.

Wow... a bunch of info dumped in the latest Corocoro (no doubt to be shown on the next Pokémon Smash). Sorry if you don't want to be spoiled don't read the rest of this...

‘CoroCoro’ Leaking, Reveals Another Mega Mewtwo, Mega Garchomp, Starter Evos, More Pokemon

• Mewtwo has two Mega Evolutions! The latest one is called Mega Mewtwo X and is exclusive to Pokemon X. It is Psychic/Fighting, has Steadfast as its Ability, and its Mega Stone is called "Mewtwonite X." The original Mega Mewtwo is obviously called Mega Mewtwo Y, is exclusive to Pokemon Y, is Psychic-type, can learn Hypnosis, and its Mega Stone is called "Mewtwonite Y."
• Mega Garchomp has Sand Force as its Ability.
• Fairy-type is super effective against Fighting, Dark, and Dragon, weak to Steel and Poison, resists Fighting, Dark, and Bug, is not very effective against Steel, Fire, and Poison, and is immune to Dragon. (Our leaker got most of them correct!)
• Steel's Dark and Ghost-type resistances are gone now.
• Hariboogu is Chespin's evolution, Grass-type, and learns Mud Shot. Teerunaa is Fennekin's evolution, is Fire-type, learns Psycho Cut, and has a twig in its broom-like tail (will it evolve into a witch or something?). Gekogashira, Froakie's evolution, is Water-type and learns Bounce.
• Two Fossil Pokemon are revealed: Chigorasu (the brown T. Rex) is a Rock/Dragon type has Hard Chin as its Ability, which increases the attack of moves involving the jaw, like Crunch. Amarusu (the blue Pokemon) is a Rock/Ice type and has Freeze Skin as its Ability, which changes all its Normal-type attacks to Ice-type attacks and boosts their power as well.
• Torimian, a white Normal-type Pokemon (the one from the Pokemon Direct), has Fur Coat as its Ability, which cuts the damage from moves that come into contact with it in half. A new game mechanic allows you to trim its fur to change its appearance. Round Eyes is a new Fairy-type attack it can learn. Nyaonikusu (Meowstick from the leaks), a Psychic-type cat, has major gender differences. Each gender has a different set of movepools, with the male's movepool being more aggressive and the female's being more supportive. The male can learn Miracle Eye whereas the female can learn Extrasensory (the female is on the left, the male is on the right). Nyaonikusu has Keen Eye or Infiltrator as its Abilities.
• For some reason Parting Shot, Geomancy, and Oblivion Wing are listed as unknown types (???) even though Geomancy was originally announced as a Fairy-type move and Oblivion Wing was announced as a Dark-type move. Hmm... our leaker strikes again? Dual-typed moves?
• There are five scientists associated with Team Flare: Kuseroshiki, Momiji, Bara, Akebi, and Kolea. Team Flare's goal is to create a beautiful new world.
• You can customize your clothes and hair at a Salon/Boutique. A famous actress named Karune helps you.

Still not crazy about all the mega evolutions, but it's not stopping me getting pretty excited for this.
