On Liebermann he's a pro censorship piece of shit, music, video games, movies, he thinks the Government needs to tell us what entertainment we can enjoy. He caused me to vote Green in 2000 since there was no way I was going to vote for a ticket with that fuck. Hopefully after the Dems grab more seats in the senate they can kick him to the curb.

And John McCain is a tough independent that votes for Bush 90% of the time. He's 10% independent I guess! Yay!

So did they lay out any domestic policy positions or was it all trying to use the bogeyman of terrorism? Then again McCain says the economy is humming along nicely so I wouldn't expect him to. After all the rich have been getting richer, its just the poor and middle class that have steadily lost ground under Bush.

I wonder how much some of the big name Democrats voted with Bush. I would suspect it'd be substantially higher than we think. I would bet the opposition party votes with the president more than half the time, on average.

No each night, like Obama, has a theme.

Last night's theme was not domestic.

Cool, didn't watch it so I wasn't sure if McCain's crew had laid anything out.

But just to let you know I don't really hold the Congressional Democrats outside of a select few in any higher regard that the Republicans. They are mostly spineless.

This was Obama's

Monday, August 25: One Nation
Barack Obama's story is an American story that reflects a life of struggle, opportunity and responsibility like those faced by Americans everyday. The opening night of the Convention will highlight Barack's life story, his commitment to change, and the voices of Americans who are calling for a new direction for this country.

Monday's headline prime-time speaker will be Michelle Obama.

Tuesday, August 26: Renewing America’s Promise

Millions of Americans are struggling to get by. The failed policies of the last eight years have betrayed the country’s values and left an economy out of balance. Barack Obama believes a strong economy is unattainable with a weak middle class. Tuesday’s Convention program will feature the voices of Americans who share Barack’s concerns and strongly support his detailed economic plan to grow the economy, create jobs, restore fairness, and expand opportunity.

Senator Hillary Clinton will be the headline prime-time speaker and former Virginia Governor Mark Warner will deliver the keynote address on Tuesday night. Pay Equity pioneer Lilly Ledbetter will also address the Convention on Tuesday.

Wednesday, August 27: Securing America’s Future

Barack Obama offers a new, tough foreign policy that is neither Republican nor Democratic, but is a strong, smart American foreign policy to make our country more secure and advance our interests in the world. Wednesday night’s Convention program will feature the voices of Americans who share Barack’s vision of making America stronger and safer.

The headline prime-time speaker on Wednesday will be Vice Presidential Nominee Senator Joe Biden.

Thursday, August 28: Change You Can Believe In
On Thursday night, the DNCC will throw open the doors of the Convention and move to INVESCO Field at Mile High so that more Americans can be a part of the fourth night of the Convention as Barack Obama accepts the Democratic nomination. Obama will communicate the urgency of the moment, highlight the struggles Americans are facing and call on Americans to come together to change the course of our nation.

Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, Jr. will address the Convention on Thursday night.

It was mostly "this is who McCain is/what he's done and that's why he'll protect us and we know he'll make principled choices."

Mostly character, maverick, experienced, strong.

If I had to summarize. plus some red meat lines against Obama's theme of hope and change

No specific policies or ideas.

I caught part of Thompson's speech on the radio on my way home from work, and it was just creepy. The way he poured over the details of McCain's torture, almost relishing it, it sounded like he was creaming himself.

Yeah, I could only listen to about a minute of it.

Totally different impression. Mine was "OMG, how could a human being endure that and not kill themselves."

It was like someone hitting everyone at home who is eating their ring dings with what people have had to deal with, including John McCain and all the POWS they had in the audience, not to mention veterans.
