Who's to say that millions of years from now that plants don't start emitting toxins because it had to adapt to the environment?
don't bother gathering up evidence, I understand what you're saying. What bothers me is that you can't comprehend the idea that nothing is certain

There are certain laws within our universe for a reason.

The laws of physics, for example. You can't apply the "nothing is certain" thing to just everything. That's not how the universe works. There are rules of order for everything in existence. Things don't just behave one way one minute, and differently another without a logical explanation.

And I'm not talking about millions of years from now.. like I said, we're talking about plants suddenly doing this, aren't we? I mean.. that's what happens in the movie.. And that. Is. Impossible. I can understand plants adapting, but that obviously takes time.

This whole argument spun out of your point that it'd be scary if plants could do that. And my point was.. no, it wouldn't, because it's impossible for it to happen suddenly.

so you dont think the idea that plant life suddenly giving off toxic pollen/fumes/whatever is a scary thing?

Of course not. That's what makes it a movie.

Just like The Birds wouldn't happen in real life. Just like Jurassic Park wouldn't happen in real life. Just like Terminator robots don't happen in real life. Just like aliens wouldn't look like Superman and would probably bring disease that kills us all.

They could film real life but it's boring.

The plant toxin thing is a metaphor, a warning, obviously.

Lady in the Water was crap.

The Village, I was entertained by, but it was only slightly better than Signs.

Signs was garbage

Unbreakable was very good.

The Sixth Sense was great.

It's like.. he can't help but make his movies worse with each outing.

My wife is like that. She finds believable horror movies, involving real people/situations, to be scarier than monster type movies or supernatural ones because she knows they can't happen.
